When & Where
New York Theatre Ballet
Founded in 1978 by artistic director Diana Byer, New York Theatre Ballet’s (NYTB) mission is to inspire a love of dance and to make its performances accessible to all audiences by maintaining affordable ticket prices. NYTB performs chamber Ballet masterpieces and new works by emerging choreographers, and innovative one-hour Ballets for children. By pairing the Ballets of legendary creators with those of new visionaries, NYTB helps audiences to rediscover the old and be thrilled by the new. NYTB has a strong commitment to reach underserved children and Families in New York City and to tour to smaller cities and venues where Ballet is infrequently performed.
